WHY IS CLEANING YOUR PET’S TEETH IMPORTANT?
Periodontal disease affects over 85% of dogs and cats above four years old, and if left untreated can lead to serious health problems. Just like humans, animals get a build-up of plaque on their teeth. If the plaque is not removed it hardens (tartar). General dental cleanings are veterinary recommended and this non-anesthesia method is low stress, low cost and a safe alternative for pets who have mild tarter build-up. Veterinarians do recommend this method of pet dental cleaning services, and many vets either offer or refer clients for this service. It does not take the place of regular veterinary check-ups and your veterinarian should always include a dental check-up, with dental xrays, to insure proper oral health for your pet.
